Amelia and Connor, having lost all their possessions during the Great Famine, left Ireland in 1849 and traveled to the United States. They aimed to find happiness and wealth in California during the Gold Rush era. The manga's editorial and licensing information changed on August 28, 2021, with Kodansha taking over from Shueisha. Starting with volume 7, the series was physically published by Kodansha. The first six volumes were digitally re-released by Kodansha, and the Shueisha digital version was discontinued after volume 7's release.
