In a future where advanced robotics are used for construction, firefighting, and military operations, these machines—called "labors"—are operated by humans, who are not always law-abiding. To combat crimes involving these powerful units, law enforcement uses specialized patrol labor units known as "patlabors." The Second Special Vehicles Division consists of a diverse group of officers who operate these units to fight crime while balancing the challenges of their personal lives.
