Chisato is a 35-year-old writer who appears much younger and is the father of Riju, a 15-year-old boy. Chisato dislikes Riju's friends, believing they intend to harm him, and attempts to drive them away by offering poisoned cakes while maintaining a friendly demeanor. One friend, Shunsuke, remains unaffected by Chisato's tactics. The story raises questions about Shunsuke's true intentions, the identity of the writer Chisato admires, and the reasons behind his distrust of Riju's peers. A story titled "Kireani" appears in the third volume.
