A white woman with blonde hair is found under a streetlamp in a quiet Japanese town, missing all four limbs but still alive. Rumors of a vampire have spread among the local girls. Koyomi Araragi, who avoids forming friendships to maintain his sense of personal intensity, is skeptical. On the first day of spring break, while returning home with some questionable reading material, he is approached by the vampire.
