Koi ja Nee kara

Akane, forty years old, visits an art exhibit featuring sculptures by Mr. Imai, her former cram school teacher who has turned to sculpting. One piece closely resembles Akane’s former best friend, Yukari, who had abruptly transferred out of school. The sculpture even includes a scar Yukari had shared with Akane in private. Curious, Akane contacts Yukari and begins to uncover a past event from their childhood that she only partially understood. The connection between Yukari and Mr. Imai raises questions about whether Yukari was simply an inspiration for his work or if there is a more troubling explanation.
