Japanese horror cinema has influenced Western audiences through films like *The Ring*, which are adaptations of Japanese movies based on classic manga. Umezu Kazuo, often called the "Stephen King of Japan," has had multiple stories adapted to film. Dark Horse Manga is now introducing his horror anthology *Scary Book* to Western readers for the first time. The first volume, *Reflections*, includes two full-length horror stories. One follows a girl whose reflection starts to control her life in a cruel way. The other centers on a vengeful samurai seeking retribution for his son's injuries, only to face revenge himself.
