A gifted student at a magic school, Alexis faces a phobia of women and a difficult personality. To progress to the next grade, he must apprentice under a graduate, but most are female. He is introduced to Daniel Bragg, one of the few male wizards, but upon meeting him, he discovers Daniel is a black-haired woman. Alexis begins a journey with her, embarking on a high fantasy adventure involving a daring mentor and a serious student.
