A teenager named Kay becomes the new owner of a uniquely shaped sword called "Machina" after an accident at her father's research institute. The sword has the ability to capture human souls. Kay now fights against bizarre creatures in a realm known as "Images," a distorted world shaped by each individual's imagination. In this setting, conventional values are inverted: enemies appear as friends, and good and evil are reversed. Her battles take place in an area referred to as "5 Minutes into the Future."
