Mao Marimo

Mao resides with his three sisters in a village where gods are a visible presence. During the village festival in his first year of high school, Mao is assigned a divine task: to live as a girl. Mao embraces his new identity with ease, but those around him struggle to adapt. His twin sister Akoya, known for teasing him about being overly emotional, feels personally responsible for his change. Adjusting to Mao's transformation proves difficult for Akoya and his closest male friend from school, as they must rethink their perceptions of him.
