Fujino has spent his childhood moving between schools, mastering the use of a false smile to fit in. At his fifth school, he continues to use this approach to make friends. One day, he discovers a boy with scars sleeping on the school roof. The boy is known as the “Mad Dog,” feared by students. Fujino watches as the boy wakes and notices him. A story of affection develops between the reclusive, tough student and Fujino, a polite academic.
