In 1961, Sadaharu Oh of the Yomiuri Giants experiences a moment of insight during a game where he can sense the thoughts of the opposing pitcher after sustaining an injury. He recalls a similar occurrence from his junior high school days. His ability to foresee the future, however, only activates about 20% of the time. After struggling with this inconsistency, he seeks advice from Coach Arakawa, who teaches him to use the one-legged hitting method to induce the ability. By employing this technique, Oh begins to consistently hit home runs, establishing himself as the top hitter for the Giants and earning numerous home run titles.
