A man works as an apprentice gardener and is involved in a complex relationship with a man who is about to marry someone else. Previously a teacher, he has always viewed himself as an inadequate one, a feeling that has persisted over time. One former student remains in his thoughts, though he tries to forget. By chance, he encounters this student again—now an adult and also a teacher. The two must confront unresolved issues from eight years prior and seek resolution.
