Nibelung no Yubiwa
ニーベルンク の指輪
The manga is based on a version of the Nordic saga adapted by Richard Wagner in his four-part opera cycle. A key object in the tale is the powerful Ring of the Nibelung, hidden beneath the sea by water nymphs. The ring grants its possessor immense strength capable of defying the gods. The protagonist, Siegfried, was raised in the wilderness by Mime, a dwarf blacksmith, and is skilled in survival and combat. After Mime is killed by a soldier, Siegfried seeks vengeance, beginning a journey that leads him to encounter Woden, a thunder god, and Brunilde, his daughter, whom he becomes infatuated with.
