Obi wo Gyutto ne!

Takumi Kogawa and Osamu Sugi from Northern Junior High, Koji Saito from Southern Junior High, Shigeru Miyazaki and Yukihiro Mimizo from Eastern Junior High, and Honami Kondo and Sakurako Ebizuka from Takamachi Junior High meet at a judo dan promotion event in July of their final junior high year. Six months later, they all attend Hamanako High School and are placed in the same class. They attempt to join the judo club, but none exists at the school. Ryuko Kurata, a third-dan kendo practitioner and their homeroom teacher, is assigned as their advisor to establish a new judo club.
