Pentheus

Shirato explores several mythological stories centered around the family of Europa and Cadmus. Europa, the daughter of King Agenor, is taken by Zeus as part of a strategy to defeat the Python. Cadmus, her brother, searches for her and travels to distant lands, where his fate becomes entangled with divine and human affairs. These events shape the legacy of his family, culminating in the story of Pentheus, his grandson, who challenges the traditions and values established by his ancestors. The work also includes a version of the myth of Caeneus, a figure who changes from female to male and becomes invulnerable to weapons, seeking protection from further assault.
