In a society where family status is crucial, Kyonosuke, the son of a noble family, lacks talent despite his privileged background. Ichiya, from an unrelated and low-ranking family, strives to rise solely through his own skills. By fate, both are drawn to the same woman, Ayame, who appreciates Kabuki. Kyonosuke, wishing to impress her, laments his lack of ability, while Ichiya, seeking her attention, might have the chance to join a prestigious family.
