Kiyoha is a girl sold into a brothel as a child, where she works as a maid before rising to become a top courtesan in Yoshiwara. The so-called "flower and willow world," celebrated by artists, hides the harsh realities of tragedy, heartbreak, and hardship endured by these women. Kiyoha uses her cunning to navigate her circumstances, but it remains uncertain whether her resourcefulness will help her escape or if her defiance will hinder her chances of freedom.
