A student reflects on a past mistake that caused him to lose his best friend and suffer social isolation, leading him to abandon his dreams of becoming a professional soccer player and withdraw from school. In high school, he spends most of his time at home playing video games. Two months into the school year, a teacher visits him. The man introduces himself as Kiritani Kakeru, a fellow student at Seiran High School who also once skipped school. Kiritani changed after meeting someone who helped him understand the value of staying true to himself. This makes the student consider whether he, too, can change.
