Shinsekai yori

A thousand years in the future, society has regressed, and people live in small groups with psychic abilities known as "Juryoku" used as a primary energy source. A girl named Saki and her friends find an archive robot outside their town, which reveals that Juryoku was discovered in the 21st century and led to a war between psychics and non-psychics, won by the psychics. The adults in the town learn of the children's discovery and suppress their abilities before exiling them. Saki and her companions end up in a forest where they encounter a large, hairless, bipedal mouse called a "Bakenezumi" and become involved in an ongoing conflict with these creatures.
