Shirokuro Kitan

Ririko experiences the loss of her parents and siblings in an unexplained event. Before relocating to Kaminoshiro, she receives a letter from her late father, which includes a card featuring a black and white checkered design. Settling into her new home, she starts school and befriends Maya, while showing some interest in a classmate named Shirou. She notices a black clock tower in the town center but finds no one willing to discuss it. Her new life appears stable until Maya produces an identical checkered card, summoning an unknown creature. Confused, Ririko is confronted by Shirou, who remarks, "Not another one....." The situation raises questions about the strange occurrences in the town.
