Kyon awakens in an unfamiliar reality just days before Christmas. In this alternate world, Haruhi is a student at a different school, Nagato is a normal human without her usual traits, and Mikuru has no connection to him. The SOS Brigade does not exist. Kyon discovers a bookmark from the robotic version of Nagato, prompting a journey through time that revisits events from the earlier short story "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody." The narrative draws comparisons to classic holiday stories like *A Christmas Carol* and *It’s a Wonderful Life*. The tale includes a prologue and epilogue.
