Ten no Ketsumyaku

In 1903, six months before the Russo-Japanese War, a Japanese academic group travels to Ji'an, located on the northern side of the Yalu River, which marks the boundary between Manchuria and the Korean Peninsula. Their mission is to study the Gwanggaeto Stele, a historical monument commemorating King Gwanggaeto of Goguryeo. The stele contains important historical information about ancient Korea and the connections between Korea and Japan.
