Vanilla Fiction

A writer known for crafting stories with unhappy endings struggles to create a book with a positive resolution due to fan requests. After a meeting with his editor and being delayed by a fan request, he encounters a girl sitting on the windowsill of a derelict building. She wears a backpack shaped like an angel’s wings. He enters the building and witnesses a violent confrontation in front of the girl, later identified as Eri Makino. From this point, events in his life take a bizarre turn, mirroring the dark tone of his novels. He is now tasked with protecting Eri from those who wish her harm. He becomes involved in a game resembling snakes and ladders, with the only way to win being to eat cookies with Eri at a specific location. Failure to do so results in the end of the world.
