After the Edo period ends, ex-samurai Haruyasu struggles to find purpose in a changed world, consumed by a longing for death. A failed assassination leaves him injured and captured by the bodyguard of his target, a young woman capable of healing. Fascinated by her, he begins to consider living just to know her better. However, the woman may demand something in exchange for her aid.
