An unprovoked civilian attack by Nena on a wedding in Spain forces Saji Crossroad to race to Spain after Louise is severely injured in the attack, resulting in one of her hands to be amputated. In another armed intervention at a Union weapons factory owned by the Iris Corporation, the Thrones kill 800 civilian employees, infuriating Setsuna as he races off in the Exia to confront the Thrones on his own, on the grounds that they are supporting armed conflicts.
