Misaki Fujioka visits her twin sister Mei Misaki in Yomiyama City as the new school year approaches. The sisters spend their final summer days exploring the town, visiting a shopping center, a shooting stall, and eventually Mei’s basement. Mei voices concerns about her upcoming class, rumored to be cursed. Seeking fun, they head to an amusement park. However, Mei notices a sign on her sister—something associated with death—suggesting an impending tragedy.
