Misaki Fujioka rend visite à sa sœur jumelle Mei Misaki à Yomiyama City à l'approche de la nouvelle année scolaire. Les sœurs passent leurs derniers jours d'été à explorer la ville, visitant un centre commercial, un stand de tir, et finalement la cave de Mei. Mei exprime des inquiétudes concernant sa prochaine classe, dite maudite. Dans un élan d'évasion, elles se rendent dans un parc d'attractions. Cependant, Mei remarque un signe chez sa sœur – quelque chose lié à la mort – suggérant un drame imminent.
