Schmelman takes the students to the beach for capture the flag training which Rihito's class wins by fleeing with the flag instead of fighting and outwitting Doan the delinquent. The class decide to make Rihito their Commander. One of Schmelman's subordinates, David, is killed on a mission but manages to send a message to Schmelman. Fearing the Ace project is in danger Schmelman finally begins human testing, the strongest genetic candidate for which is Rihito.
