Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho

In the year 526, the existence of witches and their practice of sorcery was known, though the study of magic remained a mystery. A mercenary of mixed human and beast heritage, scornfully called a "fallen beast," longs for a human form. His life changes when he encounters a witch named Zero, who offers him a chance in exchange for his help. She needs his assistance to recover a stolen grimoire known as "The Book of Zero," a powerful tome said to hold magic capable of overwhelming the world. To achieve his goal, the mercenary agrees to accompany Zero, despite his hatred for witches. Together, the witch and the mercenary set out on a journey.
