During a lunch break between matches, Nikaidou gets worked up over his determination to play against Rei in the finals of the Newcomer Tournament, and vividly talks about his future as a Meijin. Rei is listening to Nikaidou coolly until Nikaidou points out some feelings that Rei was not aware of himself and is caught off guard.
