In a near-future world, individuals known as "adepts" possess "septimal powers" that allow abilities such as flight, elemental manipulation, and the use of energy weapons. A global corporation, the Sumeragi Group, maintains peace while secretly controlling and experimenting on these individuals. One adept, Gunvolt, has the power to generate electrical fields and is employed by QUILL, an organization working to expose and halt the Sumeragi Group's hidden agenda.
