The Blue are insect-like beings whose origins remain a mystery, with some appearances recorded as early as 2017. By 2031, they had become the dominant life form on Earth, forcing the last humans to flee into space. Yuji Kaido awakens after 22 years in suspended animation to this new, hostile world. He quickly discovers that the future of the human race depends on his actions.
