Mai is the main character who cares for her older brother, Dai-Chan, who is deaf and physically dependent on her. Despite his age, Dai-Chan acts like a younger sibling, often asking Mai to support him while smiling. When Mai's elementary school begins interacting with Dai-Chan's special needs school, her classmates mock her and draw a caricature of Dai-Chan on the classroom board, causing her emotional pain. At the same time, their mother falls ill, leading to the possibility of Dai-Chan being placed in an orphanage for disabled children. Mai, however, is determined to care for him herself. The film explores themes of family love, close relationships, and human connections, highlighting shared emotions and the importance of genuine feelings in life.
