Ep. 3: Light Trap in the Darkness
The science crew drops anchor in the San Francisco Bay. To find their corn, Ryusui splits the crew into 2 teams, one to gather resources on the ship and the other to find corn nearby. Tsukasa and the other fighters are assigned to escort the corn scouting and protect them from dangerous wildlife. While traveling up the Sacramento River, the team is suddenly ambushed by a large horde of crocodiles, but are easily disposed of by the battle team who provide the group with fresh meat for burgers. After finding corn in the croc's stomach, the group continue their journey upstream where Kohaku discovers more corn floating down the river, which fills Senku with suspicion. After contacting the team on the boat to look for corn in the Bay, Senku gathers a horde of bugs with a light trap and finds moths that eat corn, indicating that there is a large supply of corn nearby. However, Tsukasa senses a hostile presence and realizes that they've been lured into a trap as an unknown assailant starts attacking them with a machine gun, causing the group to flee. Ukyo deduces that someone revived on their own just like Senku and created their own settlement with corn fields nearby. This leads Senku to realize that they are dealing with another scientist with hostile intentions, raising his determination. (Source: Wikipedia)
