In 2015, an organization called Chaldea monitors the world through both magical and scientific means to ensure the survival of humanity. After a century of stable predictions for the future, the projected timeline suddenly disappears, revealing a confirmed extinction event in 2017. The origin of this threat traces back to Fuyuki, Japan, in 2004, where an unprecedented "unobservable realm" appears. Chaldea initiates a mission known as the Grand Order, launching a Holy Grail Expedition to investigate and eliminate the anomaly believed responsible for the impending human extinction.
