We are briefly introduced to Shun's past as he struggles with the decision to become a Gate Keeper, which would move him away from home and force him to switch schools. In his mind, this would mean neglecting his family duties, which Shun believes his deceased father had done. Shun's convictions are tested when his family is once again endangered by an Invader attack! Seeing Shun as a competitor, Ruriko seeks to prove herself as the superior Gate Keeper by attempting to face this new threat alone.
