Conan meets Masumi Sera when he is seen happy after buying three detective novels for a good price at a Haido bookstore following her suggestion, but she couldn’t open the bottle she is carrying as she has just finished repairing her car. Conan has no choice but to open it for her, not knowing that it is carbonated and it splatters all over him. Luckily, Masumi is currently staying at a hotel nearby, so she could help let Conan change his clothes there, in which he refuses because there have been two hotel bombing cases reported.
