Sanpou Shoujo

Based on a 1973 children's novel by Endo Hiroko, who drew inspiration from a childhood story told by her father, the narrative centers on Aki, a 13-year-old girl. While visiting Sensou-ji, a Buddhist temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, Aki discovers an error in a sangaku. Her keen observation gains attention, leading to recognition by Arima Yoriyuki, a notable figure from the Kurume Domain known for his mathematical contributions. He employs Aki as a math instructor for a local princess, alongside other tutors. Aki competes in a mathematics contest against gifted individuals. Her goal is to earn enough to establish a school for underprivileged children, where she can teach them arithmetic.
