Minato Sahashi is highly intelligent but struggles under pressure, leading to repeated failure in college entrance exams and a reputation as a failure. After a conversation with his disappointed mother, he encounters a girl named Musubi who is being attacked. She takes him with her, and it is revealed that Minato is an Ashikabi, a rare individual capable of forming partnerships with Sekirei—108 individuals of various appearances who gain full power through such bonds.
