A fifteen-year-old girl with aspirations of becoming a fashion designer takes a position as an au pair for a successful designer, her infant daughter, and her humorous writer spouse. The baby possesses the unusual ability to cause toys and animals to behave in strange ways, though her family remains unaware of these oddities. The girl, though kind and diligent, is unaccustomed to such peculiarities and finds herself overwhelmed by the situation. Despite her initial decision to quit and return home, the baby, who has grown fond of her, uses her abilities to ensure she remains.
