Aoi Rio, a high school freshman, keeps a personal secret—he enjoys watching "Magical Girls" anime. One day, while returning home with newly purchased merchandise, he rescues a girl named Sumire who has fallen from the sky. Sumire is upset, feeling her abilities are insufficient. Aoi boosts her confidence by discussing the importance of Magical Girls, leading Sumire to request that he train her as her instructor.
