A boy named Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see spirits since childhood. His life changes when a Hollow attacks his family, and a Shinigami named Rukia Kuchiki appears. Unable to protect them, Rukia transfers her powers to Ichigo, allowing him to save his loved ones. Afterward, Ichigo takes over Rukia’s responsibility of managing Hollows and safeguarding human souls.
