Eve no Jikan: Another Act

In a future likely set in Japan, robots are widely used, and androids are newly integrated into society. Guided by the Robot Ethics Committee, people generally treat androids as appliances. Though nearly human in appearance—marked only by a ring above their heads—some people develop unnecessary empathy toward them, becoming "android-holics," a growing social issue. Rikuo, a high school student, was raised to see androids as tools, not people. He begins to question this view when he finds unusual data in the behavior logs of his family's android, Sammy. Investigating with his friend Masaki, they follow Sammy to a café with a rule that humans and robots should be treated equally.
