Forget-me-not

A young woman of Italian and Japanese heritage spends her time in Venice relaxing by the canals, playing guitar, and working on her laptop. She frequently changes her appearance, sometimes looking disheveled or disreputable, but these are all part of her efforts as a member of a renowned detective family. Mariel Imari has yet to solve the case that would grant her inheritance: the recovery of the painting *Forget-me-not*, stolen from her grandfather’s estate 22 years ago. Despite her intelligence, she is also described as lazy and unenthusiastic. Her reputation is challenged when her sisters arrive from Japan, expecting her to be wealthy. Mariel must now confront the thief who has kept her from the life she desires.
