Takami, a high school student, is paired with Hinako, a classmate at the bottom of the social hierarchy, for a challenge meant to test bravery. The two venture into the mountains, where they encounter numerous spirits. Hinako abandons Takami during their escape, leaving her in peril. Just as danger seems imminent, a spirit named Itsuki appears. A mysterious night unfolds as Takami and Itsuki interact, both carrying a shared mark or injury.
