Kawaigatte Kudasai

A series of stories centers on beings known as "Cats," human-engineered entities with cat ears and otherwise human appearances. These beings are programmed to love only their owners, and if they are not loved physically, they will die. Each story explores different aspects of this relationship and the consequences that arise from it.
