Kuri-chan

A yonkoma manga created by Susumu Nemoto, it appeared in the Asahi Shimbun evening edition from October 1951 to March 1965. The main character, named Ken, is nicknamed Kuri-chan due to his naturally curly hair. Nemoto based the character on his eldest son, born in 1948. The series is distinguished by its minimal use of dialogue, relying primarily on onomatopoeia and visual gags to convey its humor. It is considered a pantomime comic due to this unique storytelling method.
