During the last days of summer, Natsume is handed a message meant for his grandmother, Reiko, which arrives mysteriously from the shadows as he walks. Uncertain of how to react, he joins Nishimura and others for a fishing trip by the river. However, Nyanko-sensei unexpectedly shows up there.
