Aki lives an ordinary life with friends, a supportive family, and a gift for writing. Nothing appears to be wrong with her circumstances or herself. However, when a new school year places her in the same class as Yoshiko, a student from the year above who bears visible scars from severe burns sustained in a fire, Aki begins to confront both the best and worst aspects of her own character.
