Yuta Hibiki wakes up with no memory and the unusual ability to perceive things invisible to others. He first sees a Gridman reflected on his friend Rikka Takarada's computer screen, who urges him to "Remember his calling," though Yuta is confused. Later, he spots a massive, motionless monster in the distance. It is not until he arrives at school that these events connect: a monster attacks, and the figure from the computer pulls Yuta into the screen, transforming him into the giant hero Gridman.
